// The Hidden Driver of Continuous Delivery and DevOps
When we talk about continuous delivery and DevOps, we tend to talk about technology first. Automation, continuous integration, monitoring, metrics, feature flags. But what's really driving continuous delivery and devops is people, their way of thinking, and their view of the world, their actions.
The real challenge in both continuous delivery and devops is in empowering people to do their best work. That requires three core ingredients: trust, autonomy and empathy. Only when you can give teams all three will you give them something to run with.
Together, they determine the culture in your organization, culture that matters for how you ship, how you treat each other and your customers. A culture that needs protection and adaptation to empower your teams to do their best work for the months and years to come.
In this talk I'll look at these three and why they matter so much for delivering customer happiness all day, every day.
