This talk will go through the basics of how to use Docker from the ground up. We will start by using Docker to run and interact with existing images from the Docker Hub before looking at how we can build our own containers using Dockerfiles. We will look at CI/CD options provided by the Docker Hub. Finishing up with building a Docker container based around an entirely work related program (Minecraft) and pushing that to a machine running in AWS using docker-machine.

started working in industry after finishing her PhD in Computer Science investigating how to build maps for intelligent mobile agents (robots, but sometimes without the physical bodies!). She is currently working for QA as the Principal Technologist for DevOps, in charge of the entire curriculum area, writing and teaching new technologies and some consultancy stuff on the side. In her spare time she likes to learn new programming languages, and go camping, usually with a side order of chasing orcs through trees with a spear (LARPing).
